On the 5th of September, the Manila Peninsula Hotel was lit not just by the venue’s lights but also by the celebration of a remarkable milestone in the life of Solar Entertainment Corporation’s beloved President and CEO, Wilson Tieng. Surrounded by family and friends, Wilson Tieng marked his 70th birthday in a celebration that highlighted his enduring passion for the world of cinema and television, as well as his profound love for those who have been by his side throughout his extensive career. Notable guests include Philippine politicians Hon. Franklin Drilon and Hon. Lani Mercado, Governor Dodo Mandanas, Hon. Roana Conti, Vice-Mayor of Manila, Yul Servo, Mayor Dino Chua as well FDCP President Tirso Cruz III, and award-winning Director Brilliante Mendoza.
The grand celebration was a testament to the CEO’s unwavering commitment to the Philippine entertainment industry, which he helped shape through the years. As the visionary leader behind Solar Entertainment Corporation, he has not only contributed significantly to the Philippine movie and television industry but has also played a significant role in the careers of talented directors and actors whom he has given support to.
The evening started with the arrival of guests who mingled and had their pictures taken with the birthday celebrant. Friends and family proceeded to their seats to get ready for a night to remember. They each shared anecdotes that made everyone laugh, smile, and relive moments with the birthday celebrant. His family, who has witnessed the CEO’s tireless work ethic and passion firsthand, expressed their gratitude for his ability to maintain a close connection to them despite his commitment to work. His nephews Irwin and Mark, particularly spoke about fond memories growing up with their uncle who not only taught them at an early age about business, but also showed them love and care as their Uncle. The celebration concluded with guests hopping onto the floor to dance the night away.
